Worship
Worship is at the center of our faith and what we do as a community. We gather together to celebrate all of God’s gifts in life, to pray and sing, to hear and reflect on God’s word. FPCS is an open church, where you can ask questions and where you will be encouraged to think about what you believe.

We are a community cultivating our relationship with God through worship that is experiential, participatory, imaginative and connective. We are a community of faith that is challenged, strengthened and transformed by the God who is revealed in Jesus Christ.

Music is important to our congregation, and our worship is enhanced by our Chancel Choir most Sundays, and our Bell Choir periodically.  Musical selections and hymns feature a variety of genre, including classical, traditional, modern and gospel.  Our talented Music Director graces the  worship experience with accompaniment on both our baby grand piano and our 3 manual organ.  Worshipers also experience special musical offerings, such as cantatas during the Christmas and Easter seasons (which may be viewed by clicking here) and solos from time to time throughout the year.

We are fortunate, as well, to have a very active flower committee and a congregation that contributes generously to provide beautiful flowers in the sanctuary each Sunday, along with special decorations for both the Christmas and Easter seasons.

We invite you to join us on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. The worship service lasts about an hour and usually features a full choir.  Average weekly attendance is 75, ages 0-99.  You are welcome and encouraged to dress as you feel comfortable.  Most of the congregation will lean towards "business casual", but you will see jeans and coat and tie as well.

Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.  All our welcome to participate. The elements will be passed in the pews.

Children ages 3-7 join us for the beginning of the service, and are then excused for
an age-appropriate time of worship. Our Nursery Room for infants and toddlers is professionally staffed, and opens at 9:45 am.

Following the worship service, everyone is invited to share a time of coffee, snacks and fellowship in Taylor Hall.
