Rev. Kevin Ireland was ordained and installed as the pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Springfield on February 28, 2016. Kevin grew up outside of Trenton, NJ, graduated from Eastern University in St. David's, PA, and served for nine years as a youth director at Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church in Ringoes, NJ before attending Princeton Theological Seminary.
After seminary and before accepting this call, Kevin had previously served as a Chaplain Assistant at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital where his primary responsibilities included coloring, losing at Uno and helping to create space for Christian fellowship and worship in unlikely places.
Kevin's lifelong faith in Christ and love for the Church informs all he does. In his pastoral calling, he endeavors to imitate the faith and ministry of our neighbor, the Rev. Fred Rogers.
Kevin is married to his high-school sweetheart with whom he is raising two clever daughters. He enjoys drawing, painting and playing tabletop games. He is also a so-so pinball player. His daughters love dogs and will be eager to pet yours!
Kevin and his family look forward to being a part of the wonderful story God has been telling at First Presbyterian Church in Springfield and in the Philadelphia Presbytery. He is excited to meet worshippers, friends and neighbors as we join in the ministry God has been doing here in Flourtown and beyond.
Kevin can be reached via the church phone 215-233-3223, or by email: kireland @ flourtownpres.org.
