Welcome to The First Presbyterian Church in Springfield!
We are a welcoming congregation that seeks to cultivate disciples of Jesus Christ in a community of learning, healing and sharing.  Located in the heart of Flourtown, we are rich in history and we are boldly forging our future for which we know God is preparing us.  Our congregation believes in the importance of family; commitment to our neighborhood and world through mission; and nurturing  spiritual values through our ministries of worship, education, and fellowship.

Upcoming Events:

Christmas Cantata - "The Winter Rose":  Sunday, Dec. 14 @ 10 am.  Presented by the Chancel Choir, guest vocalists and chamber ensemble.

"Amahl and the Night Visitors" presented by Poor Richard's Opera:  Sunday, Dec. 14 - 4:00 pm.  This performance of the endearing Christmas opera is free to the community.  Bring the family - the performance is under an hour in length and the story and acting will appeal to children and adults alike!

Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship Services:  4:30 pm Family Service, 8:00 pm Special Music, 11:00 pm with Chancel Choir

First Sundays at First Pres:  Monthly Vespers Service on the first Sunday evening of each month at 5:00 pm.  Feel free to come as you are to an intimate time of worship through prayer, music, communion and liturgy.  Sunday, Jan. 4:  Piano music and soloist.

Magic Show for Nathan and Bennett:  Come see the amazing Chad Juros!  Saturday, Jan. 3 @ 2:00 pm in Taylor Hall.  $5 per person at the door; all proceeds benefit The Progeria Research Foundation.   Fun for all ages!

Women's Retreat: Save the dates for "Listening with Love" - Feb 27-March 1, at the Kirkridge Retreat Center in the Poconos.

Philabundance: 3rd Saturday of every month 12p.m.-4p.m. Once a month we travel to Philabundance in South Philly (3 blocks from Citizens Bank Park) to help pack Senior boxes, which are delivered to seniors who are unable to get out to shop.  The work is not difficult and the fellowship is fun!  Meet in the church parking lot for carpooling.

Men's Winter Clothing Drive: Nov. 30 - Dec. 14. Gently used and clean men's clothing is needed to stock the Clothing Closet at Broad Street Ministry.  We are collecting men's jeans, hoodies and sweatshirts, sweaters, sneakers and boots.  A collection box will be in Taylor Hall through December 14.

Don't forget the Sharing Cupboard!  Canned and packaged food items are desperately needed each week.  Your contributions are much appreciated and always delivered to Germantown Ave. Crisis Ministry on Tuesdays.  The community is welcome to drop off food donations on Sunday mornings between 9-12, and most Monday-Thursday evenings from 7:30-8:30.
